Contributor Guidelines

First Person Perspective

Objective: Capture real-world activities from your point of view to help AI understand how people interact with environments, objects, and tasks.

Content Requirements

IMPORTANT: You will not be paid for videos that do not meet ALL of the following requirements

Core Requirements (All Videos Must Include)

  • First-person perspective (your point of view)
  • Hands visible and manipulating objects
  • Continuous recording of a real task (not staged)
  • Minimum duration: 1 minute
  • Clear audio with little to no background noise

Optional for Bonus Pay

  • Include clear, consistent narration describing what you are doing in real time
  • English is preferred, but other languages are accepted

Examples:

  • “I’m opening this…”
  • “Now I’m moving this here…”
  • “This happened…. because…”

Recording Setup

  • Mount your phone on your chest or forehead so your hands stay naturally in frame
  • Use the rear-facing camera only (no selfie camera)
  • Keep the camera stable and the lens clean
  • Ensure good lighting (avoid dark or shadowed environments)

Content Guidelines

Record a variety of activities across different environments where permitted:

Locations: Home, office, warehouses, stores, restaurants, outdoors, gardens, etc.

Good Examples:

  • Daily routines (getting ready, packing, moving through spaces, preparing to leave)
  • Cooking and food preparation (cooking, baking, meal prep)
  • Pet care (feeding, grooming, cleaning, interacting)
  • Cleaning and organizing (household chores, closet organization, sorting objects)
  • Hobbies and crafts (woodworking, gardening, sewing, painting, knitting, crocheting, drawing, ceramics, model building)
  • Hands-on projects (car repair, construction, plumbing, electrical work, home repairs)
  • Shopping and errands (walking, handling items, sorting, purchasing)
  • Assembly tasks (fixing items, assembling products, installations)
  • Outdoor activities (camping, survival tasks, outdoor work)
  • Office and desk work (typing, writing, organizing materials)
  • Personal care routines (hair, grooming, makeup)
  • Gardening and farming (planting, watering, harvesting, maintenance)
  • Recreation and play (musical instruments, board games, sports)
  • Instructional or “how-to” activities (demonstrating a task step-by-step)
  • Hands-on training (technical skills, workforce tasks, educational activities)
  • Warehouse tasks (packing, sorting, labeling, inventory handling)
  • Tool use (drilling, fastening, measuring, cutting materials)
  • Equipment operation (non-hazardous, everyday machinery)
  • Maintenance tasks (cleaning equipment, replacing parts, inspections)
  • Construction tasks (measuring, framing, installing fixtures)
  • Retail backroom work (stocking shelves, organizing inventory)
  • Logistics tasks (loading, unloading, preparing shipments)

EXAMPLES WITH NARRATION:

Rejected Content (Will Not Be Paid)

  • No object interaction (hands not actively engaged)
  • Static or staged recordings
  • Repetitive actions with no variation
  • Blurry, shaky, or poorly lit footage
  • Background music or excessive noise
  • Lack of required consent
  • Obvious or intrusive filming setup
  • Media (TV or computer screen)
  • Dash cam recordings

Upload Requirements

  • All videos must be recorded and uploaded

through the Syntropi mobile app

  • Upload anytime during the project

IMPORTANT:

  • Videos are reviewed after the project ends
  • Accepted hours are confirmed after review
  • Payments are issued via Stripe within 30 days

Consent & Filming

  • Only record where you have permission
  • Obtain consent from others if they are included
  • Avoid restricted or sensitive environments
